Its could be recalled that, Barr. Kenechukwu Okeke earlier this month, was in the news for launching a criminal complaint in an Abuja Magistrate Court against fifty (50) Nigerian celebrities for participating and promoting the #EndSars protest.
Early yesterday, the CNN had released its findings after investigating the Lekki tollgate incident. In the report, CNN showed the Army used live rounds contrary to their claims of using blanks and shooting into the air. The CNN through their investigation found out that the army shot at peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll gate, many died and many were injured. Also, the CNN established that the non-conformity of the Army and Lagos State Government’ testimony was an attempt to playdown the truth.
Reacting to the findings released by CNNAfrica, Barr. Kenechukwu Okeke has threaten to institute a criminal contempt proceedings against all staff of CNN. He opined that the CNN had no right to investigate and release findings on a case which is currently ongoing before a legal panel.
He particularly ordered Stephanie Busari (Staff of CNN) to pull down the said findings been published by the media house, afterward, appear and apologize before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry, Lagos State or earn a criminal suit in accordance with law of Nigeria. Mr. Okeke’s legal threat against CCNAfrica, CNNI, CNNIBRK (not exempting any staff) attracted trolls:
